Let There Be Light

Not an end all complete and correct interpretation of Scripture. But an open ended discussion on Scripture. Which will change if correction is needed.

Where did Cain get a wife from?

Genesis 4:16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

After Cain is sent out by God he lives in the land of Nod. The Bible then says he had a wife who had a son with him. So if his wife is one of his sisters, where in the Bible does it say Adam and Eve had other children at this time?
Let's take a look at Genesis 3:16

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Here we read about the the punishment Eve receives for eating from the forbidden tree.
Notice what is said. "I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception"

In order for her sorrow in childbirth to be multiplied, Eve had to have experienced childbirth at least once before, although at this point in the Bible there is no mention of her giving birth.

Multiplying zero births by any number gets you zero increase in sorrow.

Also Scripture doesn't say Cain met his wife in Nod. So he probably took his wife/sister with him went he left for the Land of Nod.
